As a business owner, you have to deal with cash flow fluctuations, and occasionally, you may write a check or use a debit card when there are not enough funds in your checking account. Atlantic Union Bank’s overdraft protection solutions can give you the peace of mind of knowing that your transaction will be covered should an overdraft occur.

What is overdraft protection?

Overdraft protection options cover your business checking account transactions should your checking account become overdrawn.

Overdraft Protection options

Business Overdraft Privilege

This discretionary program is included with certain types of business accounts (see the chart below). While the program is a default for these business accounts, customers can opt-out. With Business Overdraft Privilege, the bank will consider paying any transaction, including ATM and debit card transactions against non-sufficient funds. However, the decision is completely at the bank’s direction, which means we do not guarantee that we will authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize an overdraft, the transaction will be declined.

Overdraft Account Transfer

This is an optional overdraft protection program that allows you to link your primary business account to another checking, money market or savings account to cover insufficient funds if an overdraft occurs. The secondary account must contain the available funds to make the transfer.

Business Overdraft Line of Credit

This is an optional overdraft protection program that allows you to use a line of credit to cover insufficient funds if an overdraft occurs. Since Business Overdraft Line of Credit is a credit product, customers are subject to credit underwriting guidelines.

Learn more about each solution and choose the one that works best for you. You can change your overdraft protection option at any time by calling Customer Care or visiting a branch.
